A trial lawyer for more than 40
years, Doug Fisher is a founder of the firm. He has long been
recognized for his work in personal injury cases and in the defense
of legal malpractice cases by inclusion in Best Lawyers in America.
In 1979 he was inducted as a Fellow of the American College of Trial
Lawyers. In the early years of his practice, following his
admission to the bar in 1952, Mr. Fisher was counsel to Governor
Frank G. Clement and was special counsel on legislative matters to
Governor Buford Ellington. He prosecuted criminal cases as
assistant district attorney for Davidson County, and served as the
attorney member of Tennessee's Board of Accountancy.
Mr. Fisher is a member of the board
of trustees of the Nashville School of Law, where he formerly was an
instructor. He served three terms as a member of the Advisory
Commission to the Tennessee Supreme Court on the Rules of Civil and
Appellate Procedure. He was twice elected to the board of directors
of the Nashville Bar Association. He is a member of the Nashville Bar
Foundation, the Tennessee Bar Foundation and the Nashville, Tennessee
and American Bar Associations. He is a 1950 graduate of Vanderbilt
University, from which he also received his law degree in 1952. |
